2013 Outstanding Directors Awards
This is the 18th year in which Twin Cities Business has honored some of the most accomplished members of local business boards. They operate as the eyes and ears for their companies’ customers, shareholders, employees, and other stakeholders. There is an art to effective board service, and much of it has to do with identifying and resolving challenges. This takes diplomacy, but as 2013 honoree Jeannine Rivet told us, “If everyone agrees on everything, you don’t need a board.”
In compiling this year’s list of nominees, Twin Cities Business once again worked with a distinguished panel of judges: Allen Bettis, Minnesota Regional Chapter chairman of the National Association of Corporate Directors; Linda Hall Keller, entrepreneur in residence, Carlson School of Management; George Kehl, managing partner of KPMG Minneapolis; and Mark Sheffert, chairman and CEO, Manchester Companies, Inc. Joining them was Dale Kurschner, editor in chief of Twin Cities Business.
