Health care incubator TreeHouse Health said Wednesday that it added Alska as the latest startup in its portfolio.
 
Founded in 2015, Alska is an online platform meant to connect health care providers and caregivers with a single communication platform. Doctors, patients, family and professional caregivers are able to upload patient vitals for chronic disease management, a shared calendar for task delegation, medical and legal document storage, as well as post updates.
 
“[Alska’s] has the potential to dramatically improve the health outcomes of the patients being cared for, while driving efficiency and cost savings,” TreeHouse managing director J.D. Blank said in a statement. “We are excited to work with them as they address a real need in the market in a novel and thoughtful way.”
 
The two companies did not disclose the total investment provided by TreeHouse. Alska will locate in TreeHouse’s downtown Minneapolis incubator and coworking space alongside other companies in the portfolio.
 
“We want to more effectively bring care teams together to support, educate and empower patients and caregivers because that leads to better health outcomes,” Alska founder and CEO Michelle Chaffee said. “Our partnership with TreeHouse will help us further these goals.”
 
This is the TreeHouse Health’s fifteenth portfolio investment. Others include POPS! Diabetes Care, StemoniX and LogicStream Health.
