Over the summer, the Minnesota Timberwolves and U.S. Bank unveiled four refurbished outdoor basketball courts in Minnesota through their charitable program known as “Our Courts. Our Future.” The courts are located in Thief River Falls, Fridley, Marshall, and Little Falls.

The program seeks to help neighborhoods renovate their outdoor basketball courts with modular sports flooring. The public chose a winning court from four regions through online voting.

The Timberwolves and U.S. Bank didn’t disclose the cost of the renovation work.

Current players Josh Okogie and Jarrett Culver helped unveil courts, as did alum players Greg Stiemsma and Troy Hudson. They joined with the Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy youth program to break in the new courts with local youth. 

The Marshall court celebrates the life of Carter Boerboom, a 14-year-old basketball player who died after battling a rare cancer, Ewing's Sarcoma. It was selected after local businesses and community members mobilized people to vote on the project.
