From the Desk of Publisher Shelly Elmore
In the world of publishing, we don’t often pause to admire our work. It’s a deadline-driven environment. By the time an issue is hot off the press, we’re already months ahead, mentally piecing together what’s next.

After 24 years with Twin Cities Business, I’ll admit it’s easy to get used to the extraordinary—to expect the incredible from our team, our partnerships, and our community. But as we prepared our June/July issue, I stopped to truly appreciate one particular moment.
Our team brought five “MVPs” of Minnesota business to Target Field (on a game day no less!) for a photo and video shoot. These are leaders whose schedules would rarely allow such a thing. And yet, there they were in one iconic space, together. Deb Hopp, Dave St. Peter, Jim Snee, Andrea Walsh, and John Koneck side by side under TCB’s banner.

I took pride in knowing that’s not luck. That’s respect. It’s trust. It’s the power of our collective efforts over decades, showcasing the stories that matter most to the business leaders who drive this community forward. No other publication could have created that moment; it was a testament to just how unique TCB is.
And it got me wondering if our partners, all of you, realize the impact you have too. With 33,000+ subscribers and more than 122,000 readers per issue, our reach fills the equivalent of the Twins Stadium seating three times over. It’s a visual that can’t help but make you think about the sheer depth of connection achieved by partnering with TCB.
It’s important to “own your backyard” and claim the home-field advantage before hopping the fence to larger markets. When you invest in local publications like Twin Cities Business, you’re not only strengthening your own brand but helping to fuel a broader ecosystem of businesses in our community. Together, we’re building something bigger than one brand—we’re building a thriving, connected local economy.
I’d love to personally explore how we can make this next chapter even better, together. “Knock it out of the park,” so to speak (sorry, the baseball puns started writing themselves).
Thank you for being part of this community.
Warm regards,
Shelly
