CAMP and Mango Join Growing List of Southdale Openings

Two more first-to-market retailers sign on as part of the Edina mall's $400 million makeover.

CAMP and Mango are the latest first-to-market retailers planning to open at Southdale Center as part of the Edina mall’s major makeover.

CAMP is an interactive toy store with revolving themes (think: The Little Mermaid and The Paw Patrol Experience) thats host birthday parties and events. The company has 10 other retail locations from New York to Los Angeles; Chicago to Dallas.

Mango is a Spanish fast fashion retailer that often gets compared to Zara, but tends to be slightly higher priced. The company has stores in 120 markets around the world and offers on-trend apparel for women, men, and teens.

Southdale’s latest batch of new store announcements also includes Aritzia, a popular women’s apparel brand with a store at Mall of America and Athleta,  the activewear brand with several Twin Cities locations including just up the road from Southdale at 50th & France. Pandora—a fixture at many malls with its focus on accessibly priced jewelry—will also open at Southdale along with JD Sports, a sportswear and sneaker retailer.

The exterior of Southdale’s new luxury wing will include a driveup for valet parking and visibility for some designer shops.

These names join a robust list of retailers already announced for Southdale as part of the mall’s $400 million overhaul. That includes Marc Jacobs, Polo, and Kendra Scott, along with the much-discussed new luxury wing featuring Gucci, Burberry, Max Mara, and Moncler. Mall owner Simon Property Group says the luxury wing is fully leased, although a few of its tenants have yet to be named.

Most openings are slated for spring and beyond; a handful of new stores have already opened at the shopping center, including Swarovski, Breitling and Lululemon.

The overarching goal, Simon Malls co-president Jonathan Murphy said in a statement this week, is to create “even more reasons for shoppers to rediscover Southdale Center. Adding prestigious new offerings such as Aritzia, Mango, and CAMP continues to complete the transformation of a community cornerstone…we are looking forward to a terrific 2025 and beyond.”
