The Name Still Fits: Evolving Solutions at 30
“The company was built around the need to adapt or evolve rather than remain static, and to deliver solutions for clients versus just selling product,” says CEO Jaime Gmach. Three decades later, that idea still holds. The name has, in his words, stood the test of time.
Like many companies founded in the same era, Evolving Solutions faced moments that tested whether it could adapt fast enough. Early on, it moved beyond recertified products and invested in becoming a stronger strategic partner. Later came the dot-com crash, the Great Recession, and the rise of cloud and services-led models. Each shift required the company to rethink how it served clients and where it was headed.

Not every decision was perfect. 10 to 15 years in, Evolving Solutions made an early bet on cloud and managed services. “We moved too quickly,” Gmach later wrote. “The lesson was that when you are exploring new areas, be deliberate and do the necessary due diligence up front. And if things don’t go as planned, be honest with yourself—make the call and move forward with what you have learned.”
What helped the company navigate those moments wasn’t a single technology bet. It was the culture behind the work. An early advisor told Gmach that “Your differentiator can’t be your people, everyone has people.” The feedback gave him pause, but he ultimately disagreed. He kept people at the center of the model. Thirty years later, he’s glad he did.
The same mindset shaped the company’s partnerships. Over time, strong relationships with strategic vendors became essential to delivering meaningful outcomes for clients. The best partnerships, like the best client relationships, were built on shared purpose, transparency, and trust.

Today, Evolving Solutions is a valuesdriven technology company that helps clients modernize, secure, and automate critical parts of their IT environments. As President Bo Gebbie put it, “Our strength is helping clients bring clarity to complexity.”
As the pace of change accelerates through AI, automation, and increasingly complex environments, the company enters its next decade with a clearer understanding of what it takes to adapt. After 30 years, the name still fits. The technologies may have changed but the mission remains the same.
