2025 Outstanding Board Directors
Experience and expertise are two qualities that are essential to effective board service. The five individuals who make up the 2025 class of TCB’s Outstanding Directors epitomize those qualities.
It’s why they were originally invited to serve on public and private company boards, and it’s why their service has endured. One of the honorees says that “boards bring strategic perspective, insight, accountability, and also the risk mitigation that helps avoid problems.”
Board members are partners with executives in helping a business succeed. But they aren’t involved in running day-to-day operations. Perhaps their most important responsibility is selecting a new CEO, as well as deciding when it’s time to replace a CEO.
While a good board member brings their business knowledge to their board role, they also need the capacity to suspend quick judgments and approach their board responsibility with a learning mindset.
The board members being honored deeply understand their companies and industry sectors, but they’ve also weathered many storms in recent years that began with the global pandemic and extend to today’s sluggish economy and dramatic changes in government policies.
