Recognizing the leadership of five exemplary Minnesota board directors.
2022 Outstanding Directors Awards

Effective board members take the long view to position their businesses and organizations for a future that is often tough to define.

Yet people serving on boards also are asking tough questions of their CEOs in the short term. In 2022, the Covid-19 pandemic is still a threat, inflation is a new challenge, and an unsettled global environment is extending supply chain woes.

At a time when most Americans are worried about the nation and their futures, experienced and strategic board members are even more paramount to organizations navigating change. The board members are making key decisions to best serve many stakeholders, including customers, employees, members, business partners, and communities.

Twin Cities Business recognizes five board members for their outstanding service on business and nonprofit boards. The expertise they bring to their board roles is quite diverse—from venture capital veterans to accomplished C-suite executives.

They are looking at ways to leverage technology to better meet the needs of their members and customers. As board members, they also are wrestling with whether and how to weigh in on political and social issues.

The five TCB board honorees share their board leadership philosophies and lessons in the following profiles.

We formally honored this year’s award winners at a Sept. 21 event at the Metropolitan Ballroom.
