Technical difficulties didn’t stop approximately 52,371 donors from contributing during the fifth annual “Give to the Max Day,” which wrapped up at midnight on Thursday.
 
Despite GiveMN’s website crashing, due to what the organization said was a surge in online visitors, donors contributed more than $17 million to approximately 4,437 nonprofits and schools.
 
Cretin-Derham Hall, located in St. Paul, topped the list for overall nonprofits with $548,192 in donations from approximately 839 different donors.
 
Minneapolis-based Shir Tivah Congregation raised $160,759 from 166 different donors, topping the list for nonprofits with annual revenue between $100,000 and $1 million.
 
Ely-based Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness organization received $35,595 from 123 different donors, topping the list for nonprofits with annual revenue less than $100,000.
 
Hibbing-based Victory Christian Academy, Inc., topped the list for nonprofits and schools outside of the metro area with $85,000 from two different donors.
