Twin Cities Business seeks an enthusiastic, efficient, problem-solving editor who is interested in developing and managing content across multiple platforms. The associate editor plays an active role in planning and creating content for the print magazine, supplements, and digital. This individual should be able to:
• Manage projects and deadlines consistently, working with staff and contractors
• Write and edit on deadline in a savvy, astute tone that will speak to the business community
• Proofread and edit articles for publication
• Think creatively about branded content—ways to bring our editorial voice and storytelling to client projects such as special sections and sponsored articles for print and digital
• Understand how to use social media from the voice of a news organization to amplify content
• Ensure editorial integrity with sales-related content projects and campaigns
• Take initiative
• Be willing to learn new computer programs such as InDesign and HubSpot

Helpful skills:
• InDesign
• Photoshop
• WordPress
• Social media platforms

Senior Writer
Experience level: 5+ years
Type: Full Time

Twin Cities Business seeks a self-starting, versatile reporter with business savvy to contextualize news about companies, industries and the economy for the business community. Experience covering finance, tech, public companies, commercial real estate, investing, entrepreneurship or other aspects of business news is a plus, but the main criteria is reporting and editorial writing experience. TCB’s senior writer contributes to online and print, helping to make sense of the latest business news developments and also taking a step back to go beyond the headlines in feature-length magazine articles.

– Strong editorial judgement
– Ability to write well-sourced, thorough, and informative articles that engage an educated reader
– Ability to develop sources and provide context and perspective
