TCB Talks: Women in Leadership 2020

Best Buy CEO Corie Barry, Allete CEO Bethany Owen and leaders from Cargill and Ecolab discuss gender parity, diversity and inclusion, and the future of work.

Leading with empathy, vulnerability, courage, and grace has been “the most amazing and refreshing change” to running a Fortune 100 company in the midst of a pandemic, economic downturn and social unrest, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry said Monday at TCB Talks: Women in Leadership 2020. “Those four behaviors, exhibited with passion and care, can do more to help us all move through this collectively than anything. I hope that’s an enduring piece of what’s important about this company, and what I will hang my hat on as a leader.”

Allete president and CEO Bethany Owen, Cargill president of business services Kim Skanson, and Ecolab senior vice president of global marketing and communications Gail Peterson joined Barry for a virtual conversation that ranged from gender and racial equality to leading remote teams and thinking ahead to creating a culture of inclusion within a hybrid office/remote work environment. They also discussed results of a recent TCB x Greater MSP survey that looked at current attitudes of Minnesota women in the workplace.

The event—which was originally scheduled for April—included a presentation of St. Catherine University’s annual Census of Women in Corporate Leadership. Watch the full webinar here:
