SportsData Snags NASCAR Deal
Minneapolis-based SportsData is partnering with NASCAR to provide real-time race scoring to third-party outlets.
The provider of real-time sports statistics will present live race leaderboards, practice and qualifying leaderboards, official post-race results, point standings and weekly entry lists as part of the deal announced Monday.
The data will be available at all of the upcoming race series, including the Sprint Cup Series, XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series.
“Sports fans crave results in real time, and this partnership will help place NASCAR’s highly sought-after data into the larger marketplace,” SportsData CEO Rob Phythian said in a statement.
SportsData, founded in 2010, provides real-time data to several companies, including Google, Bloomberg Sports, Facebook and Twitter. Swiss company Sportsradar purchased the company for an undisclosed sum in late 2013.
