Paul Ryan to Visit Best Buy HQ on Monday
U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) will be in the Twin Cities on Monday and his schedule includes a stop at the Richfield headquarters of Best Buy Co. Inc.
Best Buy spokesman Jeff Shelman confirmed the Congressional leader’s visit to the electronics retailer’s corporate campus: “He is going to be in the Twin Cities for other business and he offered to come by and meet with employees,” said Shelman in an email to Twin Cities Business.
Shelman described Ryan’s appearance as a “moderated Q&A for employees who want to attend.” He also confirmed that U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-Minnesota), who represents Minnesota’s third Congressional district, would also be at the event.
Representatives of U.S. Rep. Ryan and U.S. Rep. Paulsen could not immediately be reached for comment on Friday. Ryan announced in April that he would not be seeking reelection.
Shelman said that Ryan’s appearance is part of an “internal speaker series where we have people speak who our employees might find interesting — business leaders, elected officials, people involved with technology, etc.”
Best Buy currently ranks 72nd on the Fortune 500 based on revenue of $42.2 billion for its fiscal year 2018, which ended on February 3.
