More Jobs Added In Mpls’ North Loop Neighborhood

OST, which recently added to its Minneapolis office and has more open positions, is part of a growing trend of companies building their presence in the North Loop.

A Michigan company is among those adding jobs in Minneapolis’ growing North Loop neighborhood, and it’s looking to fill additional positions.

OST, which stands for Open Systems Technologies, recently added four new employees at its Minneapolis office and transferred two more workers from its Grand Rapids, Michigan location. The company, which provides IT and other technology services, now has 25 employees in the Tractorworks Building at 800 Washington Avenue North—and it has seven more job openings that it's attempting to fill.

Since 2003, the tech company has grown its revenue at a compounded rate of over 30 percent annually and is now a $100 million business. It has been recognized multiple times as a fastest-growing company in the country by publications such as Inc. magazine.

The North Loop area of downtown Minneapolis is booming with hip new restaurants, retailers, and apartment buildings—but recently, it has also become an increasingly attractive area for companies to lease office space. For example, Bloomington-based developer United Properties has drawn multiple tenants this year to the nearby Loose-Wiles Building.

Meanwhile, several other companies that are headquartered outside of Minnesota have recently announced plans to expand to the state.

For example, New York-based staffing solutions firm Russell |Tobin & Associates said Wednesday that it's opening a downtown Minneapolis office in the AT&T Tower at 901 Marquette Avenue.

Meanwhile, integrated marketing firm DevicePharm said this week that it has added an office in Bloomington. The company specializes in medical device, biotech, life science, and pharmaceutical marketing. Chicago-based Integrated Project Management Company said it is also adding a Bloomington location.
