MN Molding Co. Doubles Its Footprint, Will Hire Up To 75
Advanced Molding Technologies is adding a 36,000-square-foot facility adjacent to its existing plant in Circle Pines—bringing its total square footage to more than 84,000 square feet—and it plans to hire up to 75 new employees.
President and owner Brett Nelson told Twin Cities Business that the injection molding company had outgrown its current space after adding approximately 50 employees in the past year and doubling its sales over the past two years.
Nelson said in a press release that the company has “experienced substantial growth in our four primary markets: medical, construction, consumer products, and precision automotive.”
The new facility will consist of a roughly 8,000-square-foot cleanroom—an area of the facility that protects the manufacturing process from contamination—dedicated to medical device assembly. The facility will also house a mold manufacturing shop as well as packaging and distribution services. Eight molding machines will be added to the facility during the next eight to 10 months, the company said.
Nelson said the company plans to open its new facility by December 1. He added that the company plans to hire 50 to 75 new employees in the next 18 months.
Last year, Advanced Molding Technologies underwent a 16,000-square-foot expansion to add four new molding machines and a packaging line.
The privately held company manufactures, assembles, and packages medical device, automotive, and electronics molds. Founded in 1999, it currently employs approximately 175.
