MN Chamber Of Commerce Names New President

Douglas Loon currently serves as vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce named Douglas Loon as its new president on Monday, nearly a year after former president David Olson passed away.
Loon currently works at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as its vice president for regional affairs and advocacy for the Midwest region. He will resign from that role and starts his new role September 8.
“Through his work at the U.S. Chamber, Doug knows our mission intimately,” Jan Kruchoski, chair of the Minnesota Chamber’s board of directors, said in a statement. “His pro-business advocacy experience at the regional public policy level is immediately transferable to the state level.”
Loon has connections to state government: His wife is Jennifer Loon, a state representative for Eden Prairie.
Olson passed away in July 2014 of lymphoma. Twin Cities Business memorialized him in our Minnesota Business Hall of Fame feature in the July 2015 issue.
