Milestone Systems Buys Atlanta-Based Firm
Information security provider Milestone Systems, Inc., recently purchased Atlanta-based network security provider EnterEdge Technology, LLC, for an undisclosed amount in a deal that closed December 31.
Milestone, a Minnetonka-based firm, said the acquisition of EnterEdge has expanded its existing presence in the southeast region of the United States. The deal has also bolstered its tech support, services, and training capabilities, the company said.
“The acquisition of EnterEdge will allow us to continue our unprecedented growth and strengthen our position as a leader and premier provider in the network security and infrastructure solutions space,” Mark Greer, president of Milestone, said in a statement.
Greer told Twin Cities Business that the addition of EnterEdge—which provides network security, consulting, technical support, and managed services—bolsters Milestone’s customer base, “skill sets” in IT, and services capabilities, particularly in managed services.
Greer added that the acquisition has added 25 employees to Milestone’s existing 75. EnterEdge will retain its name until the end of January, at which point it will take on the Milestone brand. EnterEdge will continue to operate out of its existing space.
Greer declined to disclose the annual revenue generated by Milestone or EnterEdge; nor would he share how the deal is expected to impact Milestone's sales.
Founded in 2000, privately held Milestone provides network security hardware and software, as well as protection services to prevent cyber-attacks, malware, and other threats. In addition to its Minnetonka headquarters, the company also operates a regional office in Atlanta and has offices in several other major U.S. cities.
Milestone was recently named to Inc. magazine’s “Top 5,000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America” list. Click here to read about the Minnesota companies that made the “Inc. 500” list.
