Midwest Steel Supply Constructing New HQ In Rodgers
Midwest Steel Supply Inc. is shifting its operations from New Hope to Rodgers, a move that will double the size of its headquarters and allow it to hire an additional 15 workers.
Instead of buying a pre-existing facility, the metal materials manufacturer is planning to construct a 55,000-square-foot office and distribution center. The expansion is expected to cost the company $5.2 million.
The addition of 15 jobs is expected to take place over a three-year period, Midwest Steel said. Average wages for those jobs will be just under $17 an hour.
“Midwest Steel is growing rapidly thanks to increased demand for their products and services,” Shawntera Hardy, commissioner of the state’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), said in a statement. “This expansion will enable the company to respond quickly to customer needs and remain one of the top metal distributors in the country.”
Midwest Steel, which produces stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other metal materials, serves businesses in the medical, aerospace, semiconductor, defense and automated packaging equipment industries.
To support the expansion, DEED is chipping in a $255,528 grant from its Job Creation Fund. Midwest Steel will receive the money once it meets the investment and hiring promises it has made related to the expansion.
