HCMC Richfield Clinic Relocating, Expanding Services

The clinic has been located at the Hub Shopping Center for the past two decades.

Hennepin County Medical Center’s Richfield Clinic is one of HCMC’s oldest community clinics. Soon it will be one of its newest.

For the past 20 years, the HCMC Richfield Clinic has operated at the Hub Shopping Center. This fall, the clinic will move to Market Plaza at 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue. Though the move will be just a few blocks, it will significantly change what the clinic will provide its patients. The new location will be twice the size of the current one, and it will include a full-service pharmacy.

According to Scott Wordelman, HCMC’s vice president for ambulatory care, HCMC’s Richfield location has experienced notable growth in the number of patients served in the past few years. It requires the additional space to accommodate the demand as well as future growth.

That growth could well be fueled by the addition and expansion of several services. Among those the new Richfield clinic will add are integrated health offerings, including acupuncture and chiropractic. In addition, the larger facility will provide patients access to HCMC’s Primary Care Behavioral Health program, which integrates behavioral healthcare services in the primary care setting.

The expansion of its Richfield clinic points to the ongoing success of HCMC’s community and neighborhood clinic program. HCMC has opened several such locations in recent years, including clinics in Golden Valley and St. Anthony Village.
