Deluxe, Shark Tank Judge Look To Revitalize One American Small Town
Deluxe Corporation and entrepreneur/investor Robert Herjavec, one of the “sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank, are looking to showcase the main street of one small town by infusing half a million dollars into its business community and public spaces.
Shoreview-based Deluxe, which evolved its business from solely check printing into a marketing and financial services company, will be soliciting nominations from towns between January 11th and 28th. Finalists will be announced during National Small Business Week (starting May 1) and become open to public vote. By May 7, voting will end with a winning town determined.
Herjavec will help Deluxe showcase the town’s transformation as part of its Small Business Revolution campaign. To highlight its 100-year anniversary, Deluxe began the campaign last year with mini-documentaries and photo essays on small businesses around the country.
“Small-business owners in towns across America are the foundation for their communities and of our national economy,” Herjavec said in a statement. “Working with entrepreneurs is my passion and I cannot wait to roll up my sleeves and help Deluxe bring a Small Business Revolution to Main Street.”
As part of the $500,000 revitalization, Deluxe will invest in the town's public spaces and Herjavec will give one-on-one guidance to the area’s small businesses. Deluxe will also provide marketing and business services, all while capturing and showcasing their efforts in a web series that will debut on the Small Business Revolution website this fall.
