Abdo, Eick & Meyers Acquires MN Firm Francis & Associates
Edina-based Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP—one of Minnesota’s 20 largest accounting firms—recently announced plans for growth through the acquisition of another Minnesota accounting firm.
Abdo, Eick & Meyers said it will merge with Minnetonka-based Francis & Associates, P.A., on November 1. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the merged company will operate under the Abdo, Eick & Meyers name. Francis & Associates’ seven employees will join Abdo, Eick & Meyers—increasing the combined firm’s total employee base to roughly 100.
Abdo, Eick & Meyers, a 50-year-old company, is the 17th-largest accounting firm in Minnesota based on CPA-certificate holders in the state, of whom there are currently about 55, according to Business Development Manager Donald Kreye. Following the merger, that number will climb to about 60.
“This merger will allow us to leverage our combined experience and expertise to provide a wider range of services and outstanding customer service to our valued clients,” Abdo, Eick & Meyers Managing Partner Steve McDonald said in a statement. “It will also broaden our presence in the Twin Cities metro area and allow us [to] better serve our rapidly growing business.”
“Our clients will have access to greater resources, broader knowledge, and expanded service capabilities while receiving the same familiar personal service,” Rick Francis, managing partner of Francis & Associates, said in a statement. “All of our staff will benefit from greater professional development and enjoy opportunities to advance and grow in their careers.”
