4 Locals Among Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs
Food & Wine magazine has released its annual list of the country's “most brilliant up-and-coming chefs”-four of whom hail from Minneapolis.
Each year, the magazine selects 10 best new chefs in 10 different regions. Those 100 chefs will now be voted on by readers, who will narrow the list to the 10 best new chefs in the United States.
For the Midwest category, Food & Wine recognized Mike Brown and James Winberg of Travail Kitchen and Amusements in Robbinsdale; Landon Schoenfeld of HauteDish in Minneapolis; and Sameh Wadi of Saffron Restaurant and Lounge in Minneapolis.
Wadi was also recently nominated for “Rising Star Chef of the Year” in this year's James Beard Awards. Brown and Winberg, meanwhile, are vying for the “Best Chef in the Midwest” award in the same competition.
