Target Touts Free Shipping, More Deals To Stir Holiday Shopping Interest
Target released its holiday sales strategy on Tuesday, which emphasized free shipping for online orders and a new focus on Spanish-language advertising to bring in Hispanic shoppers.
The Minneapolis-based retailer will also continue its “Ten Days of Deals” program that includes department-specific promotions, such as for apparel, electronics or kitchenware.
Brian Cornell, CEO of Target, told reporters on Tuesday, “we are looking at very low unemployment, fuel prices remain low, the commodity pressure on food is down. The overall approach for the consumer is going to be positive this year.”
Target’s holiday sales announcement affirms its hopes for a strong holiday performance after the lackluster year it has had thus far.
