Target to Sell Christmas Trees on Web Site

For the first time, the company will sell fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands starting November 15 through its Web site, Target.com.

Online shoppers will find some new products to purchase at Target.com this holiday season, including fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands.

The Minneapolis-based retailer announced Wednesday that it will start offering the fresh Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands on its Web site starting November 15.

The Christmas trees-which range in price from $79.99 to $159.99, depending on height-can be pre-ordered now with free shipping included.

A Wednesday afternoon phone call to a Target representative to get details on the company's new holiday products was not immediately returned.

Target also announced Wednesday that it is offering free shipping for customers that spend $50 or more on Target.com from November 21 to December 11.

In addition, the company is launching “Daily Deals” on Target.com through the holiday season, which offer exclusive one-day savings of up to 50 percent off Target's regular prices on 17 items every Monday and 50 percent off regular prices of five toy items.

On Thanksgiving, when Target's retail stores are closed, the company will have an online sale featuring up to 50 percent off electronics like cameras, televisions, and a Blu-ray player and video game console. Additionally, any Barbie item purchased will ship for free.

Target-which operates a retail segment and a credit-card segment-serves guests at 1,752 stores in 49 states nationwide and at Target.com. It is Minnesota's second-largest public company based on its revenue, which totaled $65.4 billion in its most recently completed fiscal year.
