Target Teams With Lady Gaga, Offers Deluxe Album

The local retail giant will offer an exclusive deluxe edition of the singer's new album, which includes three additional studio songs and five remixes.

Target Corporation has partnered with Lady Gaga to offer shoppers an exclusive deluxe edition of her new album.

Popular singer Lady Gaga will release her third full-length album, Born This Way, on May 23. The deluxe edition includes three additional studio songs and five remixes-and it will be available only at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com.

Lady Gaga fans can pre-order the deluxe album and download her first single and title track “Born This Way” for free at Target.com/gaga between 8 a.m. Friday and midnight on February 26.

“Target has a long history of working with a diverse group of musicians, entertainers, and designers that appeal to a broad spectrum of our guests,” Michael Francis, chief marketing officer for Target, said in a statement. “Lady Gaga is one of the most dynamic artists of our time, and we are excited to add her to Target's outstanding list of music partnerships.”

Lady Gaga was named one of the 100 people who most affect our world in 2010 by Time magazine. Additionally, Forbes recently named her one of the world's 100 most powerful celebrities and one of the 100 most powerful women in the world.

Minneapolis-based Target serves customers at 1,750 stores in 49 states nationwide and on its Web site. It is Minnesota's second-largest public company based on revenue, which totaled $65.4 billion for the fiscal year that ended in January 2010. Financial results for the fiscal year that ended in January 2011 have not yet been released.
