Target Opens Eight New Clinics at Stores
A new Target Clinic opened last week in Woodbury-and seven more are slated to open in the coming months, including three in Minnesota.
The eight new clinics join 36 already-operational ones located in Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois, and Florida.
Target Clinic locations are located inside Target stores and offer treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, skin treatments, vaccinations, and tests and screenings-all of which are administered by trained health care professionals.
The Woodbury clinic, which opened March 2, is located at 449 Commerce Drive. The other seven are scheduled to open in July.
The three Twin Cities-area locations scheduled to open in July are:
- 1300 University Avenue West (St. Paul)
- 1515 County Road B (Roseville)
- 1750 Robert Street South (West St. Paul)
Additionally, three clinics will open in the Chicago area-and one will open in the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida.
All Target Clinic locations are open seven days a week, including evenings.
“Target believes that quality health care services should be accessible and affordable for everyone,” Dr. Josh Riff, Target's medical director, said in a statement. “By opening new Target Clinic locations, we will provide our guests with even more support and convenience to help them meet the well-being needs of their families.”
Minneapolis-based Target said that the clinic openings will “bring new job opportunities,” adding that hiring is now underway and that positions vary by market.
Target serves guests at 1,755 stores in 49 states nationwide and on its Web site. It is Minnesota's second-largest public company based on revenue, which totaled $65.4 billion for the fiscal year that ended in January 2010. Financial information for the fiscal year that ended in January 2011 is not yet available.
