Sun Country Sale Features One-Way Fares From $79
Sun Country Airlines is catering to Twin Citians looking to take a fall vacation on the cheap.
The Mendota Heights-based airline recently launched its “Everyone-Must-Go Sale”-featuring fares that start at $79 one way. The fares must be booked by the end of Tuesday and must apply to travel that occurs by December 15.
That rate applies to one-way travel from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Lansing, Michigan and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. However, the airline is also offering fares starting at $99 to multiple other destinations-Phoenix; Boston; Washington, D.C.; San Diego; Orlando, Florida; Los Angeles; New York City; and (beginning on October 15) Harlingen/South Padre Island.
Local residents can also fly to Seattle; San Francisco; Fort Myers, Florida (beginning October 13); and Palm Springs, Florida (beginning November 18) for fares starting between $109 and $129.
The sale comes a couple of months after the Davis Family-Minnesotans who own Cambria Holdings and Davisco Foods-purchased Sun Country, which emerged from bankruptcy in February and had been looking for a buyer for well over a year. The Star Tribune reported that the sale price totaled $34 million.
Sun Country has more than 800 employees and flies to close to 40 year-round and seasonal destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.
