SPCO: Haydn and Bach
These concerts unite two of the 18th century’s most innovative composers in one dynamic program directed by Masaaki Suzuki, founding director of Bach Collegium Japan. The origins of the modern symphony can be heard in Joseph Haydn’s percussive “Drumroll” Symphony No. 103, as well as in Symphony No. 95 (one of the famous London symphonies). The Bach on the program is CPE Bach, son of Johann Sebastian, in the form of two sinfonias. March 15–17, various venues and times, $10–$25, 651-291-1144, thespco.org
