Ryan Companies Taps Mill City Capital Co-Founder Lisa Kro as New Chief Financial Officer
Ryan Companies US Inc., one of Minnesota’s most prominent construction firms, has named Lisa Kro as its new Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFO/CAO). Kro fills the post a year after her predecessor, Brian Murray, was promoted out of the position to CEO of the company.
Kro joins Ryan Companies from the private equity firm Mill City Capital, which she co-founded and has been serving as managing partner.
“From the minute I met Lisa, I knew her strong sense of purpose and passion would be an ideal fit for Ryan,” says Murray. “Lisa is smart, warm, down-to-earth and eager to dive in. Ryan will undoubtedly benefit from Lisa’s wealth of experience and engaging and authentic style.”
From her involvement in Mill City Capital, Kro brings to Ryan experience that includes working in identifying, executing and managing private equity investment opportunities in core Midwest markets, across many industries.
Kro’s professional background also includes serving as a partner for New York financial services firm KPMG US, the managing director at venture capital and private equity firm Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison, and serving on the boards of a public company and several charitable organizations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
As Ryan Companies’ new CFO/CAO, Kro will oversee Ryan Companies financial disciplines, accounting, human resources, legal and risk management, and information systems. She will help lead the approximately $2 billion, 81-year-old privately held company’s current workforce of nearly 1,300 employees across 16 offices nationwide.
