Prime Therapeutics Names Allina Health Vet as COO

Christine Bent joins the Eagan-based pharmacy benefit manager after nine years with Minneapolis-based Allina.

Pharmacy benefit manager Prime Therapeutics has appointed Christine Bent chief operating officer. She takes over for Dave Overman, who retired in November after two years as COO.

Bent has more than a decade of experience in the health care industry. Most recently, she served as executive VP of Allina Health. In that role, she oversaw primary and specialty care services, along with integrated specialists and related care locations. Bent also oversaw an additional 90 clinics and 10 clinical services with 10,000 staff members.

Prior to that, she served as COO for Minneapolis Heart Institute and vice president of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. Bent currently serves on the board of the Women’s Health Leadership Trust and was the past board chair for the Minnesota chapter of the American Heart Association.

Bent’s appointment comes less than year after Prime Therapeutics president and CEO Ken Paulus joined the company.

Prime, which is headquartered in Eagan and is owned by 18 Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, offers a health care model it says is designed to “significantly reduce caregiver and patient friction and produce not only better health and customer experience but lower costs for all stakeholders.” The company serves more than 28 million people nationwide.
