NexGen Digital Announces Plans to Expand to MN

The company's move to Minnesota is part of a larger plan to expand to internationally and nationally to nine cities in the United States.

NexGen Digital, Inc., announced last week that it plans to expand to nine cities in the United States-including Minneapolis.

In addition to Minneapolis, the Irvine, California-based company said that it is looking to expand in Atlanta; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Huntsville, Alabama; Phoenix; Salt Lake City; and San Diego.

NexGen Digital said that the expansion will not entail opening offices, but that the company will add sales representatives who will work from home. The company said that it will likely hire two sales representatives in the Minneapolis area who will serve the Midwest.

The company said that it is also targeting statewide and regional expansion in Colorado, Florida, New York, Texas, the Pacific Northwest, and the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. It is also eyeing international expansion in Brazil, Toronto, and Ireland.

“We are growing quickly and expect to double our sales headcount this year,” Lisa Taylor, NexGen's CEO, said in a statement. “We're excited to expand our presence into these areas, increasing our global reach and international communications, which will allow us to better serve our global customer base of [original equipment manufacturers] and contract manufacturers.”

NexGen Digital was founded in 1998 and distributes semiconductors and passive components and serves as an authorized Microsemi distributor.
