MyPillow To Pay $1M Settlement Over Deceptive Advertising Suit
MyPillow has agreed to a $1 million settlement with consumer protection lawyers in California over a deceptive advertising suit filed last month.
The case made by prosecutors in 10 California counties said Chaska-based MyPillow “knew or reasonably should have known” that it was making unsubstantiated marking claims, including its claims about treating insomnia, sleep apnea and fibromyalgia, the Star Tribune reports.
Claims that MyPillow’s product is capable of improving such conditions were taken from early testimonials and are no longer used in the company’s promotional materials.
MyPillow CEO Michael Lindell told the newspaper he “decided to pay out rather than pay millions to prove our innocence.”
