Local Call Center Co. to Expand in Eagan, Hire 150
Call Center company Stream Global Services recently began leasing 37,000 square feet of space in Eagan and plans to fill more than 150 positions there within the next few months.
Stream, which is also based in Eagan, said that it will fill roughly 50 jobs immediately. Spokesman Joe Thornton told Twin Cities Business that most are customer support jobs, although the company will also hire some team leaders and team managers. The company expects to fill about 100 additional positions after call center operations begin next month.
Stream held is first recruitment-oriented open house Wednesday at the new Eagan facility—located at 3285 Northwood Circle. Its second open house was Thursday morning. Recruiters conducted initial screenings and onsite interviews, and the company hosted tours of the new facility.
Stream provides sales, customer service, technical support, and other outsourcing services for clients in the technology, software, computing, consumer electronics, media, financial services, travel and hospitality, communications, and wireless sectors.
All 150 employees who will be hired at the new facility will serve a single client in the entertainment industry, said Thornton, adding that Stream has confidentiality agreements that prevent it from disclosing the names of its clients, although many are well-known names in the industries it serves.
“We view our Eagan facility as a ‘test kitchen’ where we can work with the latest technology and innovative concepts in customer service and sales to bring greater value to our clients worldwide—while creating meaningful career opportunities for Stream employees,” Mike Shea, Stream’s executive vice president of operations and marketing, said in a statement.
Thornton said that the Eagan facility can accommodate about 300 workstations, and Stream plans to eventually fill it to capacity. The company hires call center employees as new client needs arise.
Stream employs more than 31,000 people in 22 countries, and it handles more than 150 million customer contacts annually. Nine of Stream’s call centers are in the United States—the newest of which is in Eagan. It has three major corporate offices; aside from Eagan, the other two are located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and Denver. According to Thornton, Stream’s CEO and most of its senior leadership team work out of the Eagan office.
