Greco to Give Free Rent for 1 Yr. in Uptown Apt.
How about spending a year in a resort-style apartment complex in Uptown-for free?
Minneapolis real estate developer and property manager Greco is betting that opportunity will appeal to lots of Twin Citians-and that such a giveaway will help get the word out about Flux Apartments, the newest facility in its portfolio.
Greco said Tuesday that it will give away key cards during the Uptown Art Fair, scheduled for August 5 through 7, to all visitors who “like” Flux on Facebook. On October 16, each key-holder will get to try his or her key at Flux-scheduled to open in January. The person whose key works will receive one year of free rent in a one-bedroom at the 216-unit, six-story complex, which is located at 2838 Fremont Avenue South. The giveaway is valued at $20,000.
The room that will be given away includes a washer and dryer, a balcony view of the courtyard pool, and a heated underground parking space.
In addition to underground parking, the $38 million complex will feature an Internet cafe, a bar, an outdoor pool with massage cabana, a “grill-and-chill” area, lawn bowling, a dog park, a fitness center, and concierge services.
This isn't the first time that Greco has given away a year of free rent. When apartment complex Blue opened in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis in 2008, Greco gave one lucky winner a free year in that 242-unit, LEED-certified building.
“When we launched Blue, we held this cool, neighborhood scavenger hunt, where potential residents raced around Uptown to gather items from local businesses and landmarks,” said Greco Vice President Brent Rogers. “It was a great way for them to get to know Uptown and also a great way for us to raise awareness about Blue. What makes an apartment giveaway so unique are the very high odds of winning-to-value ratio. Who doesn't want to live in Uptown? And a year of luxury for free? In this economy, it's an unbeatable prize and all you have to do is show up.”
