Gen Mills, Mayo Make “Best Co’s to Work For” List
Two Minnesota companies made Fortune's list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For.”
Golden Valley-based General Mills, Inc., ranked 58th, and the Rochester-based Mayo Clinic ranked 61st on the just-released 2011 list.
Fortune praised General Mills for its culture, which the company claims “is not flashy, loud, or arrogant”-and pointed to the fact that nearly 2,500 of the company's 33,00 employees are 25-year veterans.
For the Mayo Clinic, Fortune applauded the fact that physicians use vacation time, days off, nights, and weekends each year to care for patients in underserved communities located both locally and abroad.
