Mike Roman is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of 3M. He leads over 90,000 employees, who not only solve problems, but improve lives in nearly all countries through four business groups: Safety & Industrial, Transportation & Electronics, Health Care, and Consumer. 

Under Mike's leadership, 3M has been recently recognized by Fast Company as one of the Best Employers for Innovators. 

In previous roles, Mike served as chief executive officer, and chief operating officer leading 3M’s largest business group.  

Mike holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the University of Minnesota Foundation Board of Trustees.

Diana L. Nelson is former Board Chair of Carlson.  She is the third person to have served in this capacity in the company’s 80‐year history.

Diana has extensive board governance and leadership experience through her work with multiple for‐profit and not‐for‐profit organizations. In addition to her role on the Carlson board, she serves on the board of governors of Carlson Holdings, Inc., and the board of directors for the Carlson Family Foundation.

Raised in Minnesota, Nelson graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College. In addition to her degree from Harvard, Nelson holds an MBA in marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
