Dell Compellent to Hire More than 100

Compellent said that it had planned to expand its work force prior to being acquired by Dell, but resources made available through the transaction will allow it to grow immediately.

Eden Prairie-based Dell Compellent is looking to hire more than 100 employees across multiple areas, from engineering to sales.

Spokesman Liem Nguyen said in a Thursday phone interview that Compellent-which was recently acquired by Dell-previously had plans in place to expand its work force. But as Dell continues to invest worldwide in its storage-related business, Compellent was given the resources to grow immediately.

“We were already on an aggressive growth plan prior to the acquisition-investing in research and development and other areas,” Nguyen said. “The acquisition led to a natural evolution of growth for both Compellent and Dell.”

Nguyen said that Dell Compellent has more than 100 open positions-the majority of which are for jobs at the company's Eden Prairie headquarters. The company, which currently employs more than 500, is seeking applicants for jobs in engineering, marketing, sales, and its “Copilot” customer support team.

The company said in a recent blog post that it will host public career fairs on Friday and Saturday at the Sofitel Minneapolis hotel in Bloomington.

Dell in December announced plans to acquire Compellent Technologies, Inc. The companies completed the transaction in February in a deal valued at about $940 million. Following the acquisition, the combined company offered positions to all of Compellent's employees.

Dell Compellent provides data management features for enterprise and cloud-computing environments within a 35-country sales network.
