Cyber Monday Traffic Crashes Target’s Website
Customers eager to find big Cyber Monday deals on Target's website have been greeted with an error message due to heavy traffic.
“So sorry, but high traffic's causing delays. If you wouldn't mind holding, we'll refresh automatically & get things going ASAP. Thank you for your patience!” the message read.
The company has been silent about the issue on social media.
Target executives have stressed the importance of Cyber Monday—which they've extended into Cyber Week—as a way to improve the company's disappointing online sales growth. The Minneapolis retailer had a heavy advertising push over the Thanksgiving weekend and the company's blog called it the “biggest, boldest plans yet.”
Target said it had strong Black Friday sales.
