ArcStone Tech Sells File-Sharing Division
ArcStone Technologies-a Minneapolis-based Web design, programming, and marketing company-announced Friday that it has sold its Wonderfile business division.
The division was sold to Rochester, New York-based BlueTie, a provider of hosted e-mail and collaboration solutions for businesses. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Wonderfile is a software-as-a-service (Saas) product. It provides cloud-based online storage that allows users to publish, archive, and share files online. Wonderfile securely organizes files while allowing users to edit them from any Web browser, and it categorizes documents based on subject matter rather than organizing them in folders.
ArcStone Technologies said that it has sought a buyer for Wonderfile since last spring. “We're very excited to be working with BlueTie,” President David Carnes said in a statement. “BlueTie is a well-established player in the SaaS marketplace.”
BlueTie said in a press release that the acquisition is part of its strategy to compete with Google and Microsoft.
BlueTie's services are used by more than 250,000 small businesses worldwide, and the Wonderfile product will be distributed through the company's partners, including value-added resellers and Web site-hosting providers.
