Andersen Corp. to Purchase Window Maker Bright Wood from Long-Time Family Owners

Bright Wood has more than 1,000 employees and operates five locations in the U.S.

One of Minnesota’s largest employers, Andersen Corp., a privately held maker of windows and doors, announced Wednesday it will buy Bright Wood Corp., an Oregon-based window and patio door manufacturer.

Bright Wood has more than 1,000 employees across 28 processing plants and operates five locations in the United States, per the news release.

Andersen told TCB it will not reveal the financial details of the deal, but the company expects the deal to close in the first quarter of 2026.

According to data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Andersen ranks as a top 25 employer in the state. With a corporate headquarters in Bayport, Minnesota, the company now reports employing more than 14,000 staffers, with 6,500 of them working in the state.

Andersen Corp. said in the release Wednesday that Pat Meyer will serve as Bright Wood’s acting CEO. Several tenured members of the Bright Wood leadership team will provide support. Meyer spent about six years as the CEO of Pella Corp., a window and door manufacturer in Iowa.

Meyer takes over leadership responsibilities from long-time Bright Wood owners Kevin and Dallas Stovall, according to the release. The Stovall family founded Bright Wood about 65 years ago. They had owned the company up until Andersen Corp. announced the pending sale on Wednesday.

Day-to-day operations will continue under local leadership in the Pacific Northwest. However, Andersen said it will participate in board-level and executive-level governance.

“Andersen and Bright Wood have collaborated for decades, which is why the transaction makes so much sense,” says Eliza Chlebeck, Anderson Corp.’s vice president of communications and community. “Andersen’s financial resources will allow Bright Wood to make strategic growth investments.”

Andersen Corp. Announces $52.2 Million in Profit Sharing for 2025

On Friday, Andersen Corp. made another prodigious announcement. The company is rewarding its workforce with $52.2 million in profit sharing. Andersen added it’s paying up to $3,875 to each eligible employee.

The company said “only active Andersen employees who contributed to our 2025 success received 2025 profit sharing,” which does not include Bright Wood staffers.

This year’s payout is slightly up from 2024 when Andersen awarded a total of $50.8 million in profit sharing. Each employee received up to $3,923.

In 2025, Andersen reported its corporate foundation donated more than $4.8 million to nonprofits focused on housing, trades education, and hunger.
