Business leaders from food, technology, and other sectors are the recipients of 2023 Heartland Awards in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year competition.

The 10 Minnesota winners were honored during an EY gala held June 8 at The Fillmore in downtown Minneapolis.

“They are changemakers and champions of business and community,” said AJ Jordan, an EY Americas executive, in a written statement. “We can’t wait to see how these leaders will continue to improve lives and disrupt industries.”

Candidates for the EY awards were evaluated based on several criteria, including “demonstration of building long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, and impact.”

The EY Heartland region encompasses Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and most of Kansas. In addition to 10 winners from Minnesota, EY judges also selected two winners from Omaha and one
winner from Kansas City, Missouri.

Leaders from 11 other Minnesota companies were finalists for the EY regional award.

The Heartland winners are eligible to compete for national Entrepreneur Of The Year awards, which will be announced in November.
