2 MN Companies Relocating HQs Within the State
One Minneapolis company is moving its corporate headquarters to Roseville, where it will take over the space of another Minnesota company that is relocating to St. Paul.
Real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, which represented both parties in the real estate deals, on Tuesday announced the planned moves.
The firm said that specialty chemical manufacturer Hawkins, Inc., will lease roughly 40,000 square feet at 2381 Rosegate in Roseville. It’s moving from its current home at 3100 East Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, where it has been headquartered since 1948.
A Hawkins representative was not available for comment Tuesday afternoon. The company plans to maintain its industrial operations in Minneapolis, according to Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq.
Hawkins will sublease the space from Sebesta Blomberg, an engineering and design firm that is relocating its headquarters from Roseville to 1450 Energy Park Drive in St. Paul, according to Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq. Sebesta Blomberg plans to relocate in early 2013.
“These are two well-run companies whose leadership was instrumental in structuring a successful outcome for both organizations,” Paul Donovan, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, said in a statement.
Hawkins previously announced another move: After floods disrupted business at its St. Paul facility, the company in September announced plans to open a new 65,000-square-foot plant in Rosemount, which is expected to open in 2013 and will increase manufacturing capabilities.
Hawkins is among Minnesota’s 60 largest public companies based on revenue, which totaled $343.8 million in its most recent fiscal year.
