Windage “Removes the Pain—Improves the Game”
Brian Trachsel couldn’t enjoy his favorite pastime of golf three years ago, because picking up grass to throw and determine the wind’s direction was painful after a knee surgery. That’s why Windage—the product and the Rochester company of the same name—was born.
Trachsel and golfing pal David Healy developed a golf-ball-sized, squeezable container that releases an environmentally friendly puff of talcum powder. Besides eliminating the bend-over factor, the powder is more accurate and precise in indicating slight or variable winds than grass is. “It seemed like a no-brainer because there are 60 million golfers worldwide, yet nobody has ever done this before,” Healy says.
(Note: With caddies, golf carts, and now Windage, golfers need not walk, hold their clubs, or bend over anymore. What a game.)
