Walker Art Center Cuts Catering Ties With D’Amico, Hires Culinaire
D’Amico and Partners will hang up its apron at the Walker Art Center after the museum announced Monday that it signed Culinaire International to be its exclusive caterer.
For the past five years, D’Amico handled the Walker’s special events catering and sit-down restaurant Gather. “It’s been a great relationship and we wish them well,” Larry D’Amico, co-owner of the business, said in a statement. “We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with the Walker Art Center over the years.”
Dallas-based Culinaire will succeed D’Amico in its role while also partnering with the Walker on a new restaurant. Set to open in November amid the Walker’s $75 million expansion, the restaurant will be located in the redesigned entrance pavilion. Designs for Culinaire’s restaurant—along with menu concepts, chef partner and the restaurant’s name—will be announced in the coming months.
Culinaire manages food service in 23 cities and a number of cultural institutions. The caterer’s current Minnesota operations include Sea Change at the Guthrie Theater and FIKA at the American Swedish Institute.
