VStar Entertainment’s Expanded 5-Year Partnership with Nickelodeon Will Kick Off with Fall Production
Nickelodeon and Fridley-based VStar Entertainment Group have announced the debut of the first live theatrical production created under their newly expanded 5-year partnership.
The show, Nick Jr. Live! “Move to the Music,” will for the first time ever, feature characters from various Nickelodeon television shows, including, Bubble Guppies, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, Shimmer and Shine, and Blue’s Clues & You!.
The relationship between the entertainment organizations began in 2016, with a production of Paw Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue,” which toured across 250 cities in 18 different countries in 2017.
VStar Entertainment was acquired by Montreal-based entertainment company Cirque du Soleil in 2018. The deal was part of Cirque du Soleil’s effort to enter into the children and family entertainment market and expand its overall portfolio of entertainment offerings. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but VStar leadership remained in place and proceeded with the company’s Minnesota operations.
“As VStar continues to evolve into a leading producer of live family entertainment, having Nickelodeon, the leading children's entertainment brand, entrust additional top-rated intellectual property to VStar speaks to the confidence and trust we've established,” says Eric Grilly, CEO of VStar Entertainment Group. “We are thrilled to have Nickelodeon as our partner and look forward to the opportunity to continue entertaining audiences with even more beloved Nickelodeon characters.”
The expanded five-year deal between Nickelodeon and VStar Entertainment will involve shows with two acts and an intermission. They will also include familiar locations from the TV shows, as well as audience participation.
Tickets will be available for presale for fan club subscribers on March 6, and will be available to the general public on March 15. Tour stops and dates have not yet been disclosed.
