Top Tickets: ‘Shakespeare at the Guthrie: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth
Granted, Guthrie artistic director Joe Dowling has already directed two versions of Shakespeare’s trippy masterpiece, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. So why do a third? Evidently, he hasn’t run out of ideas about how to do the play, and in this all-new version Dowling has teamed up with choreographer David Bolger, who masterminded all those amazing song sequences in H.M.S. Pinafore a few seasons back. For those who like their Shakespeare brief and bloody, the Guthrie’s annual collaboration with the Acting Company is presenting a truncated, 75-minute version of Macbeth upstairs in the Dowling Studio (for four days only, Feb. 24-27).
Feb. 7-Mar. 29, Guthrie Theater, Mpls., 612-377-2224, guthrietheater.org
