Description

Paster Properties is an old-school family real estate company that traditionally owned pedestrian, but essential, grocery anchored neighborhood strip centers. Today the company is flexing new muscles. The redevelopment of the Porter Electric building in the North Loop and the once-shabby Texa-Tonka retail center in St. Louis Park has made them hip destinations. “We embarked on this design where we were really trying to return [Texa-Tonka] to that mid-century modern feel,” says Howard Paster. The 47,000-square-foot center has attracted new tenants, including Revival restaurant and Angel Food Bakery + Donut Bar. The firm has also diversified into multifamily housing with sister company, Paster Development. It plans to build a 112-unit apartment building across the street from Erik’s Bike Shop at the mall.
