Aveda’s primary facility manufactures products using 100% wind and solar power², and the brand pioneered the use of 100% post-consumer recycled bottles² – Today, 95% of PET bottles and jars contain 100% post-consumer recycled resin and more than 80% of our HDPE bottles are minimum of 80% PCR resin³.
Aveda strives to provide transparency with its products and manufacturing processes, in 2020 the brand completed one of the largest blockchain pilots in the beauty industry to trace vanilla from the source in Madagascar to its manufacturing facility in Minnesota.
Aveda is committed to raising awareness and funds to help provide clean water globally and help protect clean water locally through its signature annual giving campaign, Aveda Earth Month. Since 1999, Aveda has raised over $71M for these partner groups, providing clean water for over 1.5 million people in need and protecting thousands of watersheds in communities around the world. Today, we collaborate with charity: water, an organization that has completed over 150K projects since 2006 and brought clean water to over 18M people in need in 29 countries around the world³. Since our partnership began in 2018, we have raised over $5.7M: Enough to impact over 131K people in India, Nepal, Madagascar, and Ethiopia.
