A hospital-foundation fundraiser that honored nurses featured a show of Rat Pack impersonators. The event’s “That’s Life!” theme referenced both the Frank Sinatra song and the mission of the hospital. The venue was decked out to resemble a late-1950s-era nightclub. Cigarette girls offered candy and took snapshots, and bartenders juggled cocktail shakers while serving classic drinks.

For the program, an actor performing as Edward R. Murrow conducted a “live television interview” with the hospital president, including ad-libbing and humorous asides. A six-piece “studio orchestra” seated on a side stage played between speakers, backed the “Rat Pack,” and played for dancing at the end of the evening.

The Rat Pack show brought together Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Dean Martin impersonators. The trio sang and also reinforced the event’s message with a script prepared for them. Several jazz singers later sang with the band as guests were invited to dance.
