Granary Road
A new road slated for construction this year will give greater accessibility to the University of Minnesota’s developing research park and to other property open for redevelopment near the U’s TCF Bank Stadium and the Wallin Medical Biosciences Building, which opened last year. Granary Road would run parallel to University Avenue on the opposite side of the stadium and connect to an office and industrial park near Highway 280. The new road was included in the bonding bill proposed by Governor Mark Dayton at the end of January. But Mike Christenson, director of Community Planning and Economic Development for Minneapolis, says construction is not dependent on the bill passing.
